Independence Day

The 4th of July was indeed a festive celebration
I decided at 9 o'clock the night before that I was going to sew a skirt to wear the next day. . .
I am NOT crazy- I promise
I stitched all that I could, leaving only the elastic to be placed Monday morning before the parade.
Still not crazy. .
I rolled into bed at about 1 am
and then slept through my alarm the next morning
I did what I could with my dirty hair and ran to Wal-Mart to find some 2 inch elastic
They don't carry 2 inch elastic of course.
So with a few minor adjustments I finished the skirt and threw together my Red, White, and Blue get-up
We went to the Hooper parade and then to eat Navajo Tacos in Plain City
They were delicious
We watched the firework show in Hooper and ate the cake pops I made!
They are officially reserved only for suuper special occasions
only because they are a 2-day project

  1. What on earth are we doing with our lives? I was in hooper for the 4th too! And I stayed up way too late making a skirt. My dear husband said, "I didn't know you needed an outift for the 4th of July." Silly boy. Your's turned out super cute, I'll be posting mine soon.

  2. I think we are kindred sewing spirits. haha! Whenever there is a themed celebration- a cute skirt is a necessity. Even if you decide that it is necessary the night before. I can't wait to see your new post!
